About the role:


We are looking for an outstanding teacher with demonstrable leadership qualities and high expectations of students to lead the English and Media Department at City and Islington Sixth Form College. You will lead a team of 16 staff teaching A-level English Literature and Language, English Literature, Media Studies, Film Studies, AS Film Studies and GCSE English. These subjects are popular choices for students at the Sixth Form and the department has a long record of success. If you are enthusiastic, innovative, care about students and want to work in a supportive and friendly environment this may be the job for you. City and Islington Sixth Form College is a well-established and over-subscribed specialist A-level centre, with 1600 on roll. We are situated on one site at the Angel in the heart of London and our wonderful students travel from across the capital to learn with us. All teachers are tutors to a pastoral group of up to 22 A-level students and we have a wide range of enrichment and extension activities to develop our students' confidence and skills.
