Communications Officer

Located in the international heart of the Netherlands, the European School The Hague is unique. We offer complete Early Years, Primary and Secondary education leading to the European Baccalaureate. Our Primary and Secondary schools are located on two large campuses in the International Zone of The Hague. The two schools work together with a shared vision and mission as part of the Rijnlands Lyceum Foundation. Starting from the 1 September 2022, we have a job opening at our school for a:

                                                                 Communications Officer 

                                                                                   (1 FTE/40 hours)

Post description 

The communications officer works closely with (senior) management to create an effective communications infrastructure which serves the school community. You will oversee platforms for both internal and external communication and be responsible for PR and maintaining good relations with external stakeholders. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting the management in streamlining internal and external communications

• Managing content for the school website and internal communications platforms

• Writing & editing text for publications

• Compiling branded presentations

• Editing and proofreading text for communications with parents and stakeholders

• Safeguarding the school brand

• ESH Alumni communication

The ideal candidate will be passionate about customer service and education, and committed to delivering the best possible experience to our families when it comes to communication. In addition to possessing excellent communication skills, you will be a positive team player, connecting with various teams in school. With a marketing background, you are goal and results oriented. You will work with the admissions officers to enhance the “Parent Experience Journey” when enrolling at ESH. 

Requirements 

• Bachelor of Communication

• Fluent spoken and written English and Dutch

• Excellent IT skills and experience in effective use of social media; Sharepoint and MS Office suite

• Flexible and hands-on mentality

• Experience in marketing or as an communications officer in the education sector is preferred

We offer 

• An appointment based on the Dutch teachers collective labour agreement (CAO VO) for secondary education, and on scale 7 for educational support staff (OOP). The specific step in the scale is depending on relevant background and work experience

• Initially the appointment will be for one year with a prospect to a permanent one (if all requirements are met)
