Job overview

This is an exciting new role to secure new charitable income sources to help further the work of Stepping Stones  in its charitable objectives. The role will be around  initiating new funding, running events, recruiting and supporting volunteers.  You will be expected to raise the profile of the school and to engage with the local community.

Stepping Stones has grown rapidly over the past 10 years and is now ready to expand to a third site to cater for a Lower and Upper school as well as a small Post 16 provision focusing on Traineeships.

We currently make provision for 92 children aged 7 – 19 years, with a range of mild disabilities including acute or chronic medical conditions, a range of mild physical disabilities and those youngsters whose mental and/or emotional health is at risk due to their learning disabilities.

The main section of the school is housed in Undershaw a heritage building where Arthur Conan Doyle worked to mastermind the life and adventures of Sherlock Holmes. The school is incredibly outward facing as a charity and plays an important role in  influencing the lives of families and young people impacted by special educational needs.
