If you are an outstanding practitioner with the ability to inspire and motivate students, we would like to hear from you.

The successful candidate will not only be passionate about their subject, and have exceptional subject knowledge, but also have a passion and drive for our students to make excellent progress. The outstanding behaviour of our students gives you the opportunity to teach your subject and deliver exciting and engaging lessons.

St Columba's is a small Catholic comprehensive school for boys aged 11 – 16 in the London Borough of Bexley. The school’s ethos and vision is that every member of our school community is a unique and special creation of God.

Our recent full Ofsted inspection (January 2019) judged the school to be a good school and said that the values we hold ‘…are evident in the safe and welcoming community the school has become.’ They also said that ‘Warm and positive relationships are a strong feature..’ and this includes the parent body who when questioned by Ofsted ‘…are extremely positive about the school’ and ‘Virtually all respondents would recommend (the school) to other parents.’

St Columba’s is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Offers of employment are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure and other employment checks. The school is committed to equality and diversity in employment practice and service delivery.

This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers.  The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
