Computer Science Teacher

Loretto School is one of Britain’s leading independent boarding and day schools located on the outskirts of Edinburgh and we require an enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher to join on a temporary basis to lead this subject until the end of June 2021. 

We are looking for an experienced computer science teacher with a real passion and vision to create something for our pupils that will equip and prepare them for this new digital age.

This is a temporary post to cover absence due to illness and will run until the 25th June 2021.  

To be successful, you will: 

• be a passionate advocate of your subject, with excellent subject knowledge and depth of understanding;

• be able to demonstrate the ability to plan and deliver inspiring and creative lessons.

• have a passion for teaching and learning and be committed to raising standards;

• be able to inspire, enthuse and motivate students to ensure that they achieve their full potential;

• be an effective and committed team player with a clear vision for development and sustained improvement; and

• possess humour, energy, flexibility, and a positive outlook.

To be considered for the role, you will need to be GTCS registered. Unfortunately, this post is not suitable for an NQT.

Salary will be determined by experience and aptitude for the role. In addition, as recognition of the contribution to the co-curricular programme, a further salary allowance is also paid.
