Working Pattern: 32.5 hours per week, Term Time only

The school provides for 150 pupils and students between the ages of 7 – 19, who have a range of academic abilities and complex needs and with a primary diagnosis of speech language and communication needs and/or autistic spectrum conditions.

We are looking to appoint a flexible and enthusiastic teacher of Computing to join our hardworking supportive team. The successful candidate will be required to teach pupils and students who have a range of abilities primarily across Key Stages 4 and 5.

You must have an innovative and engaging approach to lessons to convey the subject to pupils and students, and monitor and assess to ensure the best possible progress. The successful candidate will have a commitment to developing outstanding practice and a passion for making a difference to the education and lives of our young people by motivating and inspiring our pupils and students to be the best that they can be while building positive and supportive relationships.

The successful candidate must:

• Have experience of teaching Computing at GCSE level.

• Have experience in teaching BTEC qualifications including IT and Creative Media up to and including Level 3 and an understanding of the paperwork requirements associated with delivering BTEC courses.

• Have an understanding of different software including the full Adobe suite, 3D rendering programmes such as Blender and game building software such as Game Maker Studio and Unity or similar.

• Be proficient in Microsoft Office including but not limited to Excel, Word, Access and other database management software.

• Have an understanding of pupils/students with SEN.

Experience of working within a SEN setting is desirable, but not essential.
