The College staff are a community who are genuine in their commitment to the needs of the students and the School as a whole.

We are currently seeking a Coordinator of Girls Games to join our Games department to promote, organise and develop sport at our College, taking overall responsibility for the girls games programme including timetabled games sessions, after school activities and fixtures.

You will organise and ensure delivery of timetabled practical Games sessions, Sports Tours, tournaments and events, alongside implementing and developing the co-curricular programme by running a wide variety of sports clubs. This will involve ensuring all of the necessary equipment and resources are available, staffing needs are reviewed and requirements are communicated to the Cross Campus Director of Sport in advance to ensure the programme is delivered smoothly and professionally.

You will also coordinate fixtures and events for all girls’ sports teams, including taking responsibility for their own team, from the planning of training sessions and team selection, right through to coaching at fixtures and preparing and contributing sporting news to the College’s social media sites and publications.

Furthermore, the Coordinator of Girls Games will be responsible for mentoring and developing the coaching team to ensure excellent standards of coaching are set and maintained and that pupils of all abilities are nurtured effectively.

Other key tasks will include communicating with parents and teaching staff, preparing and updating sports plans, risk assessments and match reports and contributing to and collating pupil’s reports.

This is a great opportunity for the right individual to be part of a vibrant co-educational day and boarding school in the Jesuit tradition, catering for the needs of children aged 11-18 from all denominations in a truly ecumenical and happy environment.

We welcome applications for this position from qualified teachers and suitably qualified coaches with the ability to coach hockey and other core girls’ sports to high standards. There will be a requirement to fully contribute to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the College, which will include evenings, Saturday and/or Sunday duties.

We are a special community with a proud history and a bright future, located in rural Derbyshire near Sheffield and Chesterfield. We offer 250 acres of picturesque grounds and a blend of traditional and modern facilities.

The recent ISI Inspection at Mount St Mary's College found that 'pupils feel safe in school' and there is a 'culture of vigilance which promotes the safeguarding and welfare of pupils.'

We were founded by the Jesuits in 1842 and we build on our Jesuit roots by teaching our students to be grateful and to be generous. We are a school where everyone is learning because everyone is growing.
