Do you want to want to champion the rights of every child and young person to a high quality, meaningful and rich education?

Your leadership will inspire confidence and clearly articulate an ambition for an excellent, equitable and inclusive education system that lays the foundations for the future well-being and success of all children and young people.

Joining our senior leadership team, you will build upon the outstanding relationships and commitment to partnership working established between the family of schools, academies, colleges and both councils to improve educational provision and outcomes in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

You will lead key services such as the SEN Team, the Inclusion Support Team, Inclusion Commissioning, Educational Psychology, Specialist Teacher Advisers, the Virtual School and the Ethnic Minority and Travellers Achievement Service.

As part of your role, you will be able to communicate a shared, clear vision which inspires and motivates. You will ensure evidence-based advice, challenge and support is available and targeted resources are used to improve provision and improve outcomes. You will be deeply committed to ensuring strategies and services are shaped by the voice of children and young people, parents and educational settings.

Through senior leadership experience you will be able to demonstrate the successful and sustained impact of your leadership on wider outcomes for children and young people. You will understand the principles of inclusion and demonstrate how these would under-pin your work in this role. You will also be deeply committed to improving outcomes for those who have special educational needs, are vulnerable or unfavourably affected by aspects of disadvantage.

In return, we can offer you the opportunity to join a strong and supportive peer group of senior leaders offering high quality support, challenge, and intellectual stimulus to a diverse community of educational settings, who have high expectations of our services. In this role, you will make a difference to students’ lives through empowering our teams to be amazing professionals. These are just some of the benefits you will receive as a Hampshire County Council employee.
