The team of Specialist Teachers for physical disability across Kent is commissioned by Kent County Council to provide services to mainstream school and pre-school settings to enable full inclusion and excellent outcomes for children and young people with physical disabilities.
The role provides a rare and exciting opportunity to lead service development and secure effective outcomes for children and young people who have special educational needs related to physical and medical conditions. You will lead a team of eight highly skilled, dedicated Specialist Teachers who work across Kent.
The team is employed by Valence School but team members are based at various special school across Kent, and cover individual districts, such as Maidstone or Shepway. The County Lead is based at Valence School, but the role often requires travel, mainly within Kent, but also occasionally further afield.
Interviews are expected to take place on Monday 26 March 2018.
Valence School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every student and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. References will be taken up before interview and the succesful applicant will require an enhanced DBS check.
