COVER SUPERVISOR 

Fixed term contract- 6 months

Required for immediate start

32.5 hours per week, term time plus 2 days

Salary level 4, Point 18 – 21

£18870 to £20541 (FTE)

£15655 to £17041 pro rata per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen to supervise lessons during teaching-staff absence. No previous experience or teaching qualifications are needed as full training and an induction programme will be given. Experience within a school would be an advantage, although not necessary as full training will be given.

Chesterton Community College is a co-educational secondary academy located in Cambridge, educating around 1,000 students aged xxx. The school converted to academy status in 2011. 

Chesterton Community College holds specialist status in humanities, and has seen extensive redevelopment and modernisation since its founding. In 2004 its opened a brand-new sports complex, complete with gym, swimming pool and café.

Chesterton Community College highly values its non-selective ethos, going to great lengths to ensure that students are given proper provision and care regardless of background or ability. The school is known for its English-language provision for students who have learning difficulties or who are learning English as an additional language. 

Teachers strives to involve students' families, so that parents have a positive and accurate idea of the path taken by their child. Tolerance and respect for other faiths and traditions are heavily impressed upon students.

“Most students, including the few from minority heritage groups, are achieving well and making good progress. The proportions of students making expected and better progress in English and mathematics is improving, and above average. In the summer 2013 national examinations attainment was above average in both English and mathematics.”
