Kent Range 5 £20,595 - £21,693 FTE (£14,426.36 – £15,195.49 actual salary).

30 hours a week (8.30am – 3.30pm) 39 weeks a year (term time only including 5 training days).

At The Malling School we are looking to appoint a highly motivated, organised and flexible individual to join our expanding Cover Supervisor Team.

Working within a team your key role will be to supervise whole classes during short term absence of teachers ensuring that our students continue their learning and progress. You will benefit from working in a supportive environment with a coach on appointment and access to career development.

Full training will be provided.

Essential requirements include: 

  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics (GCSE level 4 or above or equivalent) 
  • Previous experience of working with children of secondary school age 
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office packages to a proficient standard 
  • Ability to apply behaviour management policies and strategies which contribute to a purposeful learning environment. 
  • The ability to work well in a team and independently 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Must have the ability to work calmly under pressure and have the ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing circumstances/situations.

 Desirable 

  • Knowledge of SIMS 
  • Previous teaching experience 
  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs

The Malling School

A mixed 11-19 co-educational High School of 1000 pupils serving the historic market town of West Malling and surrounding villages. The school is set in pleasant rural surroundings and has its own lake and extensive grounds. It was completely re-built in September 2007 and therefore has outstanding facilities.

West Malling is close to the county town of Maidstone and has excellent rail links to London and Ashford International (for the Continent).
