The Chiltern Hills Academy invites applications for an exciting opportunity to join the staff of a successful, mixed 11-18 Church of England Academy in the Chiltern Hills, conveniently situated at the end of the London Underground Metropolitan Line.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to supervise students during the absence of a teacher. The successful candidate will ensure that students carry out a prepared lesson and respond to students questions appropriately. They will create an effective learning environment through positive classroom management including taking responsibility for the students’ behaviour and safety.
During periods where cover is not required, they will oversee the library and provide one to one and small group assistance. They will be required to organise displays and book orders, train staff and students on returns and lending and promote the library as a quiet study area.
The ideal candidate will be available to work between 8.20am and 4.20pm daily with half an hour unpaid lunch break and 4pm finish on Friday.
We have recently completed a capital build with an investment of £10 million, which provides an excellent well-resourced teaching environment. “This is a good school, students progress well” our OFSTED visit (February 2013) recognised. “Students are respectful and understanding of one another’s responses.” (SIAMS Inspection, May 2015).
We would be pleased to show prospective applicants around the Academy. Please contact Mrs Mistry (HR Administrator) to arrange a visit. Details of the post are on our website, together with an application form. Completed applications should be submitted to Mrs J Mistry, by email firstname.lastname@example.org and should include a letter indicating your strengths for this position.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. All staff appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
Deadline for applications: Midday, Friday 20 September 2019
Interviews: week commencing 23 September 2019
