Cover Supervisor/ Teaching Assistant Level 3

32 hours per week  Term time plus 5 INSET days

Salary – Band F, Point 12 £22,571 per annum pro rata (£17,748 actual Salary)

To Start 5th September 2022

We wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant Level 3 to provide effective cover supervision in all subject areas throughout the age and ability range.  The successful candidate will also assist with the work of the SEND team, under the direction of the SENDCo, when whole school cover is not required.  Lord Derby Academy and its SEND team received positive feedback in the school’s recent Ofsted inspections:

• Lord Derby Academy continues to be a highly inclusive school with dedicated staff who nurture and care for the pupils. It is clear from the review process that the leaders continue to prioritise inclusion ( IQM report January 2022)

• Pupils’ behaviour is consistently good around school and in lessons. Leaders’ actions have sustained the good behaviour of pupils noted at the last inspection (Ofsted April 2019)

• Leaders know the pupils and the community well. Parents, carers and members of the community have confidence in the school’s leadership. As a result, the number of pupils on the school’s roll has risen significantly (Ofsted April 2019)

• The school’s work to promote pupils’ personal development and welfare is outstanding (Ofsted April 2019)

• There is a carefully researched and designed training programme. Staff say that they benefit from the training programme and some are inspired by it (Ofsted April 2019)

• The special educational needs coordinator takes effective steps to support the good learning of pupils with SEND. The information provided for teachers about these pupils is detailed and supported by staff training (Ofsted April 2019)
