Are you ready for an exciting role as leader of our successful Modern Foreign Languages team starting from April or September, 2018?  Have you already made an impact within your current team, and feel ready to develop your skills further? This is a superb opportunity for an aspiring, imaginative and inspirational teacher to join an established and forward-thinking faculty where you will play a crucial role in taking the team on the next step of its journey.  The successful candidate will work in a caring and energetic school where students achieve and make sustained progress as a result of our ‘can do’ ethos.

In return, we offer you the opportunity to work with our remarkable students and colleagues, where your contribution to the MFL Team, the EBacc Faculty, and the school as a whole, will be valued.  Working in a friendly, aspirational school community, we invite you to join us in our commitment to inspire every student with the skills, resilience, independence and confidence they need to achieve their potential. As a leader within the school, we have an extensive CPD programme to support you in your career.  We also provide all our staff with a laptop computer and tablet device.

This is a critical leadership role in a growing Modern Languages Department. We are looking to appoint an outstanding, enthusiastic, dynamic, ambitious teacher and middle leader, who possesses the ability, drive and desire to:

  • lead by example in developing learning and teaching
  • take a highly visible and key role within the school
  • help lead, motivate and develop an effective team of language teachers
  • make a difference to the life chances of all our students
  • passionately buy into the school’s ‘can do’ culture
  • embrace the change agenda
  • engage with new technologies.

Excellent learning and teaching is at the heart of all that we do and is supported with a full professional development programme and outstanding induction programme.

Visits to the school from prospective candidates are welcome.  Selby is located in picturesque North Yorkshire and benefits from good commuter links with York and Leeds.
