Curriculum Lead of Science

Manchester Secondary PRU is seeking to appoint a fully qualified outstanding, motivated, creative and inspirational KS4 Teacher of Science who is passionate about improving the life chances of pupils who have been excluded or are at risk of permanent exclusion from secondary education.

You will join a strong, supportive team in which you will be part of the operational delivery of an exciting KS4 Science programme to year 10 and 11 students across the city. The ability to deliver lessons in support of our enrichment programme, will be a distinct advantage.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of KS4 science in the PRU. At present students are being prepared for GCSE Biology and as such a specialism in Biology would be an advantage.

This post will give you the opportunity to make a considerable impact on the future outcomes for students as we move from our Ofsted judgement of Good (Jan 2017) to Outstanding.

Many of our pupils are vulnerable and have complex needs. We work with parents, carers and a range of agencies and stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes for them. Effective partnerships with High Schools and Academies are critical to achieving good and better progress for our students.

Manchester Secondary PRU is currently in the process of academy conversion.
