Job overview

This is an exciting and exceptional opportunity to lead and shape all of the college’s A Level and vocational Art and Design curriculum.  You will provide a clear vision for the college’s Art courses, leading your team of highly talented and skilled programme leaders, teachers, technicians and tutors.  You will lead by example through teaching on one of the Art courses.  Shrewsbury Colleges Group was created through a merger in 2016 and from September 2017 all A Level and vocational art and design courses have been located at our English Bridge campus.  The opportunity has now arisen to integrate the leadership and management of all the provision and through the role create a single curriculum area committed to the highest quality, student-centred provision, which includes five Art and Design A Level courses, Extended Diplomas in Art, Fashion and Photography, L2 Art, HNC/D Fashion and Photography, and community art courses.  To apply for this post, you should possess a degree in Art or a related subject,  a teaching qualification, and have a knowledge of A Level and BTEC specifications and post-16 curriculum initiatives. You should also have recent experience and a proven track record of successfully teaching relevant art subject(s) at Level 3 and demonstrable experience of successful leadership and management.
