Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Curriculum Leader – Technology. This is a tier 3+ position. This is a full-time continuing teaching appointment, with an initial three-year appointment as Middle Leader. Two subsequent three-year appointments as Middle Leader will be offered following a successful performance review.

As Curriculum Leader – Technology, you will be responsible for:
• Leading the overall co-ordination of a designated curriculum area.
• The application of contemporary learning and teaching research and data analysis to classroom practice through professional development and supervision of staff engaged in these areas.
• Induction of new teachers within the area(s) of curriculum responsibility or supervision of the induction of new teachers where it is undertaken by an experienced teacher.
• Pastoral care of staff engaged in the designated area of curriculum responsibility.
• Co-ordination of assessment, moderation and reporting programs, and keeping of appropriate records.
• Supervising the quality of teaching practice through activities such as collegial planning, moderation, classroom observation and facilitation of reflective teaching practice.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to meet the following criteria:
• Hold appropriate qualifications and experience across all areas of Technology,
• Have the capacity to teach Industrial Design and Technology,
• Have the capacity to teach Cert I Construction and/or Cert II Engineering Pathways advantageous but not essential,
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills,
• Proven organisational skills,
• A clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum,
• An ability to work in partnership with colleagues, students and parents/carers,
• Attend in detail to innovative and creative practices, and
• Lead the development and delivery of a vision for the area of Technology.

  • hold current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
