We are seeking to appoint a Curriculum Operations Manager in the Construction curriculum area to provide dedicated leadership in the creation and implementation of the department’s vision to continuously improve whilst offering current and relevant education. 

We are looking for an outstanding, enthusiastic and ambitious individual to manage an exciting curriculum area and further strengthen our management team.

Our people are at the heart of everything we do and this role is to ensure our staff, and students are equipped with the skills and opportunities to respond to the needs of the construction job market.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • A proven track record in working in partnership with key industry partners and stakeholders to effectively develop the Construction curriculum

It goes without saying to work in an outstanding College you need to be passionately committed to the needs of the learner. It is essential that you have highly effective decision making and problem solving skills, the ability to use insight and the ability to pick up on issues quickly

As you will be leading and managing our Construction provision you must have credibility within this network, be passionate about the Construction industry and with supporting ambitious young people to succeed in their careers.

Background information

Gateshead College is a further education college and was established on November 15, 1995 at Durham Road in Low Fell, Gateshead. The original campus was closed as part of a planned move in January 2008. The college moved into a £39 million new main site located at the Baltic Quayside in Gateshead. More than £75 million has seen the development of six campuses, for academic and vocational courses.

The College has its own car park, but at busy times alternative parking is available nearby.

There is a charge for parking. Students can apply for a permit to allow free parking during study time.

Our campus is easily accessible by all methods of travel. We would encourage you to consider alternatives to car travel which can help keep you and the environment healthy. There are bus stops outside the Baltic Campus for the following services, which links with Gateshead Interchange - Q1 Quaylink, 93/94 The Loop. The nearest Metro stations to the Baltic Campus are Gateshead Interchange and Central Station.

The nearest Metro station to the Academy for Sport is Gateshead Stadium; it's about a 10 minute walk. Parking is available at the Academy for Sport and is operated on a first come, first served basis. There are three car parks which are free and you don't need to display a permit or ticket. Q1 and Q2 Quaylink buses run up to every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes in the evening. The 93/94 Loop bus runs from Gateshead Interchange and Heworth Interchange to four Gateshead College campuses; Baltic Campus, Academy for Sport, Skills Academy for Automotive, Manufacturing Engineering & Logistics and Skills Academy for Construction.
