32.5 hours per week, Term time only plus 5 days 

Scale 2 (Points 3 to 4), Actual starting salary range:  £14,251 - £14,535 

Trinity Academy Grammar joined the Trinity Multi-Academy Trust in October 2018 and is now recognised under the body of world class schools.  Working closely with outstanding leaders from across the trust, the academy is characterised by its high aspirations and ambitions.  Targeted and effective support systems have been implemented in order to create an environment where our students experience an outstanding education with no limit to what they can achieve. 

Our GCSE results over the last three years have validated the work we have already undertaken in the academy and the results our students have achieved means the academy can now be recognised as one of the most improved schools in the country.  However, we are determined not to rest on our laurels and are always looking for ways to better serve our students. 

All these fantastic and exciting initiatives require the expertise and commitment of dedicated staff and Trinity Academy Grammar now wishes to appoint a Curriculum Tutor.  As Curriculum Tutor you will be based in the relevant subject area (maths, english, science or humanities) depending on your experience and specialism, to support our students in achieving their goals. 

Knowledge or experience of working in an educational setting is desirable but not essential; we believe in getting the right people into our organisation.  Training specific to an educational setting can be provided as required. 

This position may also be of interest to people who are interested in teaching.  As part of the Trinity Multi-Academy Trust we have close links to the Trinity Institute of Education, which provides numerous routes into the profession. 

This position also represents a unique opportunity for anyone who is interested in developing a career in education.  Over the last three years all our curriculum tutors have gone on to become teachers or have been promoted into positions within support staff roles.  

What we need:  

  • Good numeracy and literacy  
  • Ability to relate well to children and young people  
  • Experience of working with, or caring for children or young people of a relevant age

The Trinity MAT were first approached to work with the then Sowerby Bridge High School, when it had been graded as inadequate by Ofsted and had been ranked in the bottom 15% of all schools nationally.

After joining the MAT in 2018 the progress made has been outstanding. The academy has improved its Progress 8 outcome by 0.92 and the performance puts us comfortably in the top 1% of most improved schools in the country.

In September 2021 we will be adopting the new name of Trinity Academy Grammar to better communicate our identity, high standards and aspirations for our students. We have chosen a name which truly reflects our grammar school heritage, and to better showcase our core values of Empathy, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, as we continue to build on this legacy through our outstanding achievements and passion to help our students reach their full potential.
