An exciting opportunity has opened up for an Information Governance Officer, working across the Trust to help improve data handling and privacy across an evolving and dynamic environment and acting as the Trust’s Data Protection Officer.
The role will be supporting the Information Governance agenda across the organisation, working at all levels to embed standards and practice.
You'll get involved in a wide range of complex Information Governance related matters including projects around utilisation of personal and/or sensitive data, requests for information, information sharing, security incidents and even research projects.
To be successful in this role, you'll have previously worked on projects which revolve around personal/private data and how organisations process, store and share this data as allowed by both GDPR and the DPA.
The role will be office based on commencement with the potential for some home working at a later date, depending on experience.
Main duties of the job:
The role will act as a source of expertise on Information Governance issues including Data Protection, EU and national legislation and local policies and procedures, throughout the Trust.
Working closely with managers and staff across the organisation to ensure that Information Governance policies and procedures are developed in line with best practice and that standards are understood and adhered to.
Supporting the management of information assets and information risk, embedding data protection by design principles into practice. Writing, reviewing and advising on DPIAs will be a key part of the role.
Identifying areas of risk in the delivery of the Information Governance and data security, evaluating the effectiveness of controls and making appropriate recommendation for the successful management of risk.
