Job overview

The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families supports distressed children and their families through innovative therapeutic practice and research, training and promoting awareness of mental health issues. In April 2019, the Centre opened its new Centre of Excellence located in King’s Cross.

This is an exciting time to join the Centre and the Mental Health and Wellbeing in Schools Programme in particular. Due to recent growth, this is a newly created post to support current projects and to work with the Programme Director to further develop the Centre’s offering to schools. The Programme provides a trusted source of up-to-date and accessible information and resources that teachers and school leaders can utilise to support the mental health and wellbeing of their whole school community. It also runs a range of national projects which share expertise, disseminate best practice and translate research findings into practical, accessible tools for schools.

This new role is a fantastic opportunity to influence how mental health in schools is implemented nationwide.  You will be educated to degree level in a related subject, e.g. education or psychology, and hold qualified teacher status, with a Prince2 or other project management qualification an advantage.  You will have experience of school systems and managing large projects, as well as outstanding communication skills, in order to confidently represent the work of the Programme and deputise for the Director.
