
Deputy Head (Academic)

Ashville College, Harrogate, is looking to appoint a Deputy Head (Academic) to continue the successful work of the current post holder who moves to a new Post in April 2021.
The post-holder will oversee all aspects of academic strategy and teaching and learning within the Senior School and the Sixth Form and will contribute to the development of educational provision and transition throughout the College in support of the Headmaster’s strategic vision for the College as a whole. The post holder will work closely with an experienced senior leadership team at senior and college level and will attend a number of Governors’ meetings.
The successful candidate will be an experienced middle or senior leader with a proven track record of success, an outstanding classroom practitioner, have experience or empathy with the independent school model of all-round education and a willingness to engage in extra-curricular activities. In addition the successful candidate will be committed to ongoing school improvement, able to work collaboratively as well as take a lead, have the drive and energy to see projects and initiatives to successful completion and will have the ability to manage sensitively staff, pupils and parents. This post would suit someone with the ambition to move to headship in due course.
The successful candidate will also be able to identify with and support the College’s Methodist values, which promote the ethos of each individual pupil being of equal value and that all should strive to become the best version of themselves.
