The faculty of Art and Design shares a dedicated art building with the faculty of Media and Performing Arts. Situated within Exeter’s creative quarter, all students have access to local museums and galleries, and our students’ experience is enriched by dedicated workshops and studios. We encourage partnerships with external partners which bring added value to our curriculum.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic Deputy Head of Faculty into a thriving faculty which has the reputation for being a welcoming and supportive environment in which to work. We are seeking a forward-thinking and highly motivated individual to work alongside our Head of Faculty to help maintain our outstanding outcomes and to take this growing faculty forward. The Faculty deliver programmes from Level 2 to Level 5 across Fine Art, Fashion and Textiles, Graphics, Photography, 3D design and TV and Video. Knowledge and experience with Level 3 16-18 teaching is key to this role.

The successful candidate will have the emotional intelligence required to manage and support the staff team and oversee our student pastoral support. They will also need to have a positive outlook and ambitious approach to moving our faculty forward.

You will need to hold a relevant degree, teaching qualification and be able to demonstrate significant experience of teaching at FE level. A flexible approach, excellent interpersonal skills are also required as well as being an effective team player.
