About Role

As Deputy Head of Junior School, you will serve as an integral part of the student journey and oversee all matters related to our teaching and learning across our thriving Junior School (KS2). This role is pivotal in providing proactive and responsive leadership to engage all stakeholders in the written curriculum, pedagogical approaches, delivery of programs and services that support our holistic and rigorous enhanced British curriculum and assessments. The Deputy Head of Junior School leads the development of academics across the Junior School and manages its implementation, along with Year Group Leaders. The Deputy Head of Junior School supports the whole College guiding statements, by providing a link to the academic structures with both the Early Years and Senior School. The Deputy Head of Junior School line and performance manages the subject leaders and deputises for the Head of Junior School in his/her absence. Curriculum development, subject area best practice, quality assurance, staff professional development and professional learning are key aspects of this role. We are seeking a highly effective, flexible and dynamic leader, with a genuine commitment to putting students first. Post-holder Qualifications, Experience

  • THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATEA bachelor’s degree and teaching qualification 
  • At least 3 years of management expereince
  • Experience in leading teachers within a Junior School or similar setting
  • A proven track record of putting the interests of students first, promoting excellence and innovating for improvement
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and administrative skills
  • Integrity and the ability to inspire trust and confidence in dealing with personal and confidential issues
  • An awareness of current educational thinking/practices, particularly with respect to the teaching and learning of Junior School aged students 
  • The ability to carry credibility with students, parents and staff both within and outside the DCB community
  • The ability to think strategically across the Junior School and within the College
