Kingsdown is an exciting, vibrant, growing Special School for pupils aged between 3 - 14 years. Our Mission Statement is ‘Be happy, communicate, learn and achieve’. Kingsdown is part of the SEN Trust Southend, Multi-Academy Trust, a partnership of the four special schools in Southend-on-Sea.

Our new Deputy must have enthusiasm, passion and commitment and be an outstanding teacher for children who have severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties. They must also be ambitious both for the school and for themselves.

You will be expected to have prior successful leadership experience, be able to inspire others, lead colleagues by example and take a strategic role in the running of the school.

Kingsdown is a Community Special School for children aged 3 to 14 who have severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), physical disabilities and associated learning difficulties. The majority of pupils have communication difficulties.

The facilities at the school are wonderful, but more importantly there is a fun, motivating, learning atmosphere which is friendly, welcoming and supportive and this underpins our Mission Statement.
