Deputy Head Teaching and Learning, Curriculum and CPD

Queensbridge Primary School is a very happy, thriving two form entry with two bulge year groups in Y5 and Y6. We are in Hackney with 520 pupils. In July 2011 we became outstanding in our Ofsted and in March 2012 became a National Support School with Sarah Bailey OBE, the Head Teacher, as a National Leader of Education. The school won Primary of the Year 2012. We also have an Ofsted Early Years and Extended Services ‘outstanding’ at Mapledene Children’s Centre for work in the local community.

Queensbridge has a longstanding relationship with UCL (was IOE) and is a Specialist Partner for Initial Teacher Training. As a designated National Teaching School (Future Stars) we hold many significant awards including ArtsMark Platinum, music, EYFS, DSR and computing. We are highly creative and love performing arts- we have strong links to performing arts locally and nationally for enrichment. We are highly inclusive and are a lead South East of England Restorative Justice school. We also lead the Reading Hub and work with DFE to help outside London with Recruitment and Retention in Norwich and Suffolk as a Teaching school.

We have a challenging intake of children and are highly inclusive in our practice. We do not rest on our laurels! We have an established Head but hope to bring in some new experience and fresh ideas to our team.

We are looking to appoint a strong, dynamic, enthusiastic, committed and creative full time and permanent Deputy Head, term time only to join our leadership team which comprises of:

The school's leadership team consists of:

• The head teacher (deputy DSL/recruitment and retention, standards, day to day, vision and strategy, budget, teaching and learning- staff and children)
• A deputy head teacher (to be appointed) Teaching, Learning and Standards
• Business Manager (deputy DSL finance premises cover release HR personnel H&S day to day assistance to HT)
• Children’s Centre Manager (sub SMT with BM)
• Head of Teaching School (ITT, Future Stars, website, UCL Links, School Direct, Research)

Four assistant head teachers: class based – one day per week leadership release time unless other duties:

• Foundation Stage (ITT/ SD/ Mentor and coach)
• Curriculum CPD
• Assessment, data and tracking
• Personal development/ well-being CP pupil premium/ PHSE/ DSL safeguarding

Senior leaders consist of:

• 2 part time SENDCo- EY KS1/ KS2 ARP
• Numeracy coordinator
• Reading
• Writing
• Science
• Phase leaders

Middle managers: Humanities/ RE/ Music/ Dialogic Talk/ PE/ PHSE/MFL/EMA
