Rockwood Academy is a popular school at the heart of the local community. Our last Ofsted inspection (March 2016) rated the academy as 'Good' in every category including pupil outcomes; quality of teaching, learning and assessment, behaviour and welfare and effectiveness of leadership and management. This is a tremendous achievement considering even nationally very few schools go straight from 'Special Measures' to 'Good'. This is a pivotal stage in the development of the Academy and a wealth of opportunities exist for ambitious and committed leaders and teachers.
We are extremely proud of our summer results in 2017 which placed us in the top 2% of schools nationally for progress. We are also above national in all other performance measures.
Rockwood Academy is an 11-16 co-educational Academy. The Trustees, Governors and Headteacher are seeking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher with the experience, expertise and energy to further develop and drive the academy forward on its journey to outstanding. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate they have the resilience, determination and passion to take the academy forward working alongside the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.
The ideal candidate will understand the value of providing our students with a broad educational experience, where high academic standards are supported by a rich variety of extended curriculum opportunities. Our students are highly motivated and positive in their approach to learning. They benefit from our passionate and committed staff who are dedicated to providing the highest quality learning opportunities and experiences on a daily basis.
