Job overview

Building confidence for the future

Ashley College caters for 20- 50 centre based and home tutored vulnerable pupils with medical needs from Key Stage 1 to 4. Since September 2016, under the leadership of the new Headteacher, Ashley College has worked to secure rapid improvements and we are now seeking an inspirational educationalist to help lead the college through its next phase of growth.

We would like to appoint an experienced leader who will inspire and motivate colleagues to provide outstanding teaching and learning.

We would like to appoint an experienced leader who, as Deputy Headteacher, will support the Headteacher in providing:

  • High quality and professional leadership at Ashley College,
  • Accessible and inclusive education for all pupils
  • Improved standards of learning and achievement.

They will support our vulnerable children and young people, who often have complex medical conditions, mental health needs and emotional disorders, to build their self-confidence and resilience so that despite the challenges they face, will ensure that Ashley College continues to improve outcomes and life chances for our learners. The Deputy Headteacher will inspire and motivate colleagues to help take us from ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’.

In return we can offer support and encouragement, a team where you will be valued and developed with the opportunity to gain experience across all aspects of senior leadership with the support of the Headteacher and our Management Committee. Being part of our team and making a difference to our, often very vulnerable, children and young people is in itself a rewarding post.

We welcome applications from dynamic and innovative professionals who share our passion for supporting vulnerable young people with often complex medical conditions, mental health needs and emotional disorders or a combination of these.

The post represents an outstanding opportunity for an experienced school leader to lead and demonstrate their ability to turn our vision into positive outcomes
