Job overview

The Trustees are looking to appoint a committed Deputy Headteacher to replace our current Deputy who has retired after 25 years’ service. We wish to recruit someone who will provide professional leadership and management on a whole school level and who will maintain the high standards of the school; Ofsted Outstanding status at the last three inspections, and has the vision and ability to support the leadership and development of the school into its next phase.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Headteacher you will:

·lead on student welfare including behaviour, attendance and safeguarding;

·drive improvement throughout the school and play a key role in the ongoing success and development of Glebe School;

·work with the Headteacher in terms of strategic and financial planning and deputise for the Headteacher in his absence to provide continuity of leadership;

·take responsibility for line managing and performance management of staff, in particular support staff;

·act as a role model for good leadership and management, personal conduct and professional development;

·be responsible for undertaking the professional duties and responsibilities of a Deputy Headteacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions document.

·A leader who is an outstanding practitioner, able to create and support innovative approaches to improve life opportunities and employment for SEND students;

·A people manager with emotional intelligence and good humour to lead and continually challenge underperformance;

·Resilience, perseverance and optimism in the face of difficulties and challenges and the capacity to be flexible, adaptable and creative;

·Knowledge of finance and resource management to derive best value from the school budget.
