Deputy Headteacher

Cantonian High School is on an exciting journey.  We are a rapidly improving, rapidly growing school with high aspirations and expectations for all.  We aim to be the most improved school in Cardiff providing consistently high-quality learning and teaching experiences to our pupils.  

Following the retirement of our current Deputy Headteacher we are looking for an experienced, dynamic leader to join our forward-thinking Senior Leadership Team.  As the only Deputy Headteacher in the senior leadership team structure the individual roles and responsibilities are flexible.  However, we are looking for someone with a skill set that will not only complement the existing team but will have a direct impact on raising standards and improving outcomes for our pupils.  

We are committed to ensuring all our pupils develop as successful individuals; from our most vulnerable pupils to our more able and talented learners.  We recognise that for pupils to achieve their potential, their learning needs to be personalised to meet their individual needs.  We also recognise that learning is more than academic achievement but should be centred on the development of the whole child; including their personal development. Ultimately, we strive to be a centre where learning is valued and pupils achieve their potential in a happy and safe community where they show respect and tolerance for others.  

We are looking for an excellent leader who demonstrates consistently high standards of learning and teaching with a relentless focus on challenge and improvement.  The appointed person will have passion, drive, energy and enthusiasm to support the Headteacher in leading the school on the next stage of our journey.
