Deputy Headteacher Curriculum

The Cottesloe School is a successful and oversubscribed Foundation Secondary School with Sixth Form situated in the village of Wing in rural North Buckinghamshire, situated conveniently for Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes

We are committed to ensuring that every learner has access to a broad, rich, deep, strong curriculum that develops the necessary skills, knowledge, understanding, virtues and character to enable them to securely take the next steps in their life, learning and education.

To that end we deliver a curriculum that is not only rich and deep in knowledge but that is also empowered through planned opportunities for students to broaden their learning and experience to enable them to confidently face the challenges of the future.

At The Cottesloe School we believe that success is underpinned by the development of 'Healthy Relationships' and 'The Cottesloe 6Cs'; we define this as 'character'. By developing this holistic approach to the ‘curriculum’ it is our intention to create an educational journey for each pupil that inspires, motivates and engages them to become independent learners who can make a positive contribution to the community they live in.

We are seeking to appoint an innovative and dynamic leader with extensive knowledge of the current educational agenda, and someone who has a proven track record of school improvement.  You will lead on Curriculum and support the Headteacher to lead the whole-school team towards ‘outstanding’ by building on our current strengths.  The expectation is that the candidate will:

• Be insistent on educational excellence.

• Be able to inspire, challenge and empower staff.

• Have the ability to foster our culture of high standards in Teaching and Learning, curriculum and emotional intelligence.

We are expecting to appoint a Deputy Headteacher who is passionate about combining academic rigour with opportunities for all students. You will play an instrumental role in raising our academic standards via the management and implementation of our curriculum.
