To that end we deliver a curriculum that is not only rich and deep in knowledge but that is also empowered through planned opportunities for students to broaden their learning and experience to enable them to confidently face the challenges of the future.

At The Cottesloe School we believe that success is underpinned by the development of 'Healthy Relationships' and 'The Cottesloe 6Cs'; we define this as 'character'. By developing this holistic approach to the ‘curriculum’ it is our intention to create an educational journey for each pupil that inspires, motivates and engages them to become independent learners who can make a positive contribution to the community they live in.

We are seeking to appoint an innovative and dynamic leader with extensive knowledge of the current educational agenda, and someone who has a proven track record of school improvement.  You will lead on Curriculum and support the Headteacher to lead the whole-school team towards ‘outstanding’ by building on our current strengths.  The expectation is that the candidate will:

We are expecting to appoint a Deputy Headteacher who is passionate about combining academic rigour with opportunities for all students. You will play an instrumental role in raising our academic standards via the management and implementation of our curriculum.

The Cottesloe School is a forward-looking school with a new Headteacher who leads an experienced and stable senior leadership team who have a passion for creating an inclusive learning environment, which enables all students to meet high expectations. All staff and students are highly valued.  Through our personalised CPD programme we offer first class commitment to developing individuals to reach their full potential.  Emphasis on staff wellbeing is central to our culture and we provide a vibrant working environment.

Values and vision

The Cottesloe School’s staff are fully committed to maximising the life chances of all of our students by creating a rich, deep, vibrant and challenging learning experience for everyone. Our students benefit from highly qualified and exceptionally committed staff who recognise the importance of creative and challenging teaching, strong pastoral care and have high professional standards.

Our curriculum has carefully designed pathways to make sure it meets the needs of all our students. It provides an excellent range of options in GCSE and A Level qualifications supported by a range of vocational courses.

Prepare, Aspire, Succeed is borne out of a simple philosophy of what we believe is the purpose of education.

Prepare, Aspire, Succeed is what we do - it is what defines us as a school and it encapsulates all that is unique and strong about The Cottesloe School.

A focus on working towards academic excellence across the school is complemented by a commitment to providing the emotional support students need to recognise their potential. This is the purpose of The Cottesloe School’s TEAM Hub (Together Everyone Achieves More) centre. If a Head of Year identifies further support is necessary, interventions such as anger management and stress management are made available through drop in sessions or through professional counselling.

Ofsted

“Leaders are passionate about improving all aspects of the school for the benefit of every student.  All staff have worked effectively to embed an ethos of warmth, care and support.  Students are rightly proud to belong to their school.  Parents are positive about the behaviour of students and say they are managed well.  Staff are similarly positive about the behaviour of the students.  Parents are overwhelmingly positive about the school and the quality of the education it provides for their children."
