William Edwards School is a large, highly successful and oversubscribed mixed 11-16 school. It is the strategic lead school for the Thurrock Teaching School Alliance and is part of the growing South West Essex Community Education Trust. Pupil outcomes across the school are significantly above the national average and the school has been judged to be ‘outstanding’ since 2010.

We are seeking a dynamic, hard-working and inspirational leader to be part of the team that drives the school to the next stage of its development. Final responsibilities will be negotiated according to the strengths of the successful candidate. However, areas of responsibility will include: 

• the development of pedagogy 
• curriculum development •
• quality assurance processes 
• oversight of assessment and intervention strategies 

You must be capable of working independently as well as working collaboratively with highly experienced and capable teams. You should be able to contribute to our continued drive for further school improvement. A track record of improving student performance at middle and senior leader level, as well as excellent interpersonal and management skills are requirements for the post, which would suit an individual who is a successful member of a School Leadership Team.
