Thomas Mills High School seeks to appoint a Deputy Headteacher for January 2023 to join the leadership team of this successful 11-18 school.

Set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside near to the coastal towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold and having easy access to Ipswich, Norwich and London, Thomas Mills serves a wide rural community.  Traditionally non-selective, we have consistently outstanding examination outcomes at all levels.  Attitudes to learning are excellent and pupils have access to a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

We want our new Deputy Headteacher to be an excellent teacher and communicator, able to inspire confidence in all stakeholders, and motivate pupils to achieve the highest outcomes.  You will be an effective manager with the ability to think strategically.  

We are looking to appoint a strong leader who will uphold and strengthen our well-established school ethos and Charter of Values and who will relish the opportunity to move the school forwards.

Thomas Mills High School is a mainstream, co-educational, non-denominational, secondary academy for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Framlingham in Suffolk and there are 1,140 pupils on its roll.

Thomas Mills High School is one of the country’s highest performing schools with a reputation for excellence.

The original school was founded in 1751 and has been known by a few different names since. Thomas Mills High School was established in its current form in 1979. It is named after a local wealthy businessman, who was the benefactor of the original school back in the 1700s and was a respected member of the Baptist community in Framlingham.
