Job overview

We are ideally looking to appoint an experienced Deputy Headteacher with an ambition to lead a school within 12 to 18 months. This essential additional capacity is required due to the  continued growth of our school and the Teaching School Alliance. You will be required to build on the undoubted strengths of the school and share our unwavering commitment to every child receiving an outstanding education. You will support the Headteacher in providing professional leadership for the school, you will need to; lead with clarity and integrity, inspire and influence others and you must have the rigour and passion to continue to make our school a great place to learn by motivating and supporting all staff and students.

The Deputy Headteacher will lead on Student Welfare and Personal Development including Safeguarding. 

We are looking for someone who:

· is passionate about promoting a culture of educational excellence within a caring and secure environment

· has a supportive ethos and concern for the development and welfare of all members of our learning community

Woodrush High School is an oversubscribed 11-18 mixed Academy and has an excellent reputation locally and nationally. Our last three Ofsted inspections have been graded ‘Outstanding’ and we work hard as a team to continually strive to improve. We are a designated Teaching School and a National Support School committed to educational innovation. We are situated in a pleasant suburban area on the borders of Birmingham, Solihull and Worcestershire only 5 minutes from Junction 3 of the M42.

Woodrush High School is a mainstream, non-denominational, secondary academy for girls and boys aged 11-18. It is situated Wythall, Worcestershire, near the city of Birmingham.

Our recent Ofsted inspection, December 2018, categorised Woodrush as a ‘Good’ school with ‘Outstanding’ Leadership & Management and Personal Development, Behaviour & Welfare. It is a Teaching School and a recognised National Support School.
