36 hours per week term time only

(N.B. Annual leave for Support Staff to be taken in school holidays)

We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic and high calibre Deputy Pastoral Leader to join our energetic and dynamic team.  You will work with a Pastoral Achievement Leader, ensuring that the quality of pastoral care is outstanding and that all students achieve their potential.

We will support and develop you to become an outstanding leader.  We are an aspirational, reflective and creative learning community where all adults are learners who take risks in order to achieve excellent results for our students.  

The successful candidate will be:

  • Educated to a good level (min C grade in English and maths)
  • Youth work/counselling qualifications or experience
  • Experience of working pastorally with children including experience of safeguarding
  • A calm, decisive, unflustered and warm manner 
  • An understanding of current educational issues 
  • Strong behaviour management skills 
  • The ability to work as part of a team 
  • The ability to relate to parents and other stakeholders

About Little Ilford School

Little Ilford School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, 11-16 secondary school, situated in the London Borough of Newham. The school, which was founded in 1957, has 1,500 students on roll.

Little Ilford School is part of the Manor Park Schools Community Partnership, along with most of its partnership primary schools, and is a Lead Practitioner Learning Centre for the SSAT.
