The Design & Technology Department is a busy, expanding and cohesive department who work together to achieve the best for students. Design & Technology Department is a popular and thriving department which attracts good student numbers.  

This is an exciting time to join The Howard with a number of significant changes planned for the near future that will support our move towards excellence. As a school our academic results are exceptional. The Howard School previously achieved very high rates of students gaining 5 A* - C grades including English and Mathematics at GCSE, and our strong Progress 8 score from the last two years for all groups of students demonstrates our commitment to each and every one of our learners. We remain one of the most consistently performing non-selective schools in the South East, and continue to challenge the stereotypical view of underachievement in young men. 

We value our teachers and actively support their professional development, and have redesigned our working week from September 2017 to place even greater emphasis on staff development.
