Design and Technology Technician

The Godolphin and Latymer School is one of the country’s leading independent day schools for girls, located on a six acre site in Hammersmith. Our facilities are excellent and the girls are bright, talented and highly motivated. Subjects within the Design Technology department are popular and excellent examination results are achieved.
An opportunity has arisen for a friendly, enthusiastic and appropriately skilled applicant to join the school as a Technology Technician, to support the teaching of Design and Technology, whilst also assisting with Food and Textiles.
The purpose of this role is to maintain the teaching and stock rooms, tools and equipment, to ensure a safe, clean and orderly environment in which teaching can take place, with support provided for the teaching staff and girls.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills and will be able to set up equipment and materials efficiently within a set timeframe. They will need to possess, or acquire (with help from the school), knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislation and Risk Assessment and they will be environmentally aware, maintaining the ethos of the department through the policy of reducing, reusing and recycling.
Previous experience would be advantageous, however, training can be provided if necessary. The start date for the post is January 2018 or soon after. The salary awarded will depend upon qualifications and experience.
