We are delighted to be making an appointment for a Design and Technology Technician for two days per week at the Rodillian Academy

The Rodillian Academy is the founding school of The Rodillian Multi Academy Trust which also includes The Featherstone Academy, Brayton Academy, BBG Academy and Southway.

We are housed in a £27 million building which opened in 2008 with state of the art technologies across all departments. The school is oversubscribed due to its’ success and from the commitment of the Trust in providing private school opportunities in a modern comprehensive environment. We believe that traditional values of discipline and respect are sacrosanct. We do not tolerate bullying, defiance or rudeness to staff and this has made for harmonious and safe learning environments for our young people, and a supportive environment for staff.  We are a happy and well run organisation and this is an extremely exciting time to be part of The Rodillian Multi Academy Trust.
The ideal candidate we seek is an experienced Design and Technology Technician who can provide technical advice and support to the staff and students. You will liaise with the department to prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons. You will provide assistance and guidance to pupils and help instil safe working practices. Your role in ensuring general maintenance is carried out, resources are ordered and checked and that safety legislation is adhered to is paramount to the efficient and effective running of our DT department.

Please note; both the Rodillian and BBG Academies require a DT Technician for 2 days per week. Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to apply for either post or for both positions. Please state on your application if you are applying for one vacancy or both.

As a growing Multi-Academy Trust with an excellent reputation, there are always opportunities for career development and further career progression for ambitious and committed colleagues.

The Rodillian Academy is housed in a £30 million building. It has large, light and well-resourced spaces, over 1,000 computers, interactive Smartboards in every classroom, a dance studio, a recording studio two gyms and Astro turf pitches.

The Academy has been rated as 'Good' by Ofsted since 2012, with its most recent inspection in 2019, alongside leadership and behaviour being rated as 'Outstanding'.

Behaviour in the Academy is exceptional, and something which we are very proud of.

Our highly successful Sixth Form provision sits within the top 25% nationally too.

Our 2019 inspection saw Ofsted note that “Leaders ensure that pupils learn in a calm and supportive environment. Teachers do not accept disruptions to learning. Pupils behave well, and know who to go to if they need help. Leaders take bullying seriously, and pupils agree. Staff create an orderly environment based on clear routines. Staff encourage pupils to share their views in class, and relationships between pupils and staff are positive and respectful”.

At Rodillian we believe that traditional values of discipline and respect are sacrosanct. We do not tolerate bullying, defiance or rudeness, and this has made for a harmonious and safe learning environment for our young people.

We are proud of the supportive environment we provide for staff, where they can concentrate their efforts on teaching, and their own continuing professional development.

Our school is also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Rodillian is a happy Academy where students and staff show respect, consideration, and kindness.
