Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a newly created role, championing the needs of vulnerable children and further developing our positive (supporting and challenging) relationship with schools and multi-academy trusts in the area.

Children in our area can generally expect to achieve good outcomes; and our Ofsted/CQC SEND inspection reflects positively on schools and services working well together, but educational results reveal one of the largest gaps for disadvantaged children anywhere in the country.

You will use your educational leadership experience and relationship-building skills to bring together a range of key functions such as Education Inclusion (SEND and children outside of mainstream education), the Virtual School, duties such as admissions co-ordination and place planning, as well as our remaining school improvement role and off-line safeguarding functions (LADO, IROs and CP chairs), to build a unique oversight of the experiences of vulnerable children in our area and to reduce those stark inequalities.
