We are looking for an inspirational leader who will relish the challenge to lead this vibrant and highly successful Art Department, one of the leading departments in the country. Excellent subject knowledge and an ability to use varied and innovative teaching techniques in order to promote learning to motivated and highly able girls are essential. A large number of girls choose Art as a subject at GCSE and in the Sixth Form and every year a significant number go on to study Fine Art and Architecture at university level. The Art Department is housed in a purpose built Art School, with four open plan studios, a darkroom and mezzanine floor gallery/studio and the School is currently looking to build a new Art School in the future. This position has become available following the retirement of our highly esteemed current Director of Art and will be an excellent opportunity for the successful applicant to steer the future of Art at the School

Headington is a leading day and boarding school for girls aged 3-18, set in a green 23-acre site located a mile from Oxford city centre.

The School, which has over 1,000 pupils across the prep and senior schools, has a thoroughly international and culturally diverse outlook, with more than 45 different nationalities represented.
