About the Role

This is an exciting time to join Outcomes First Group in a brand-new role that will help us take forward our education strategy and influence the national agenda on special educational needs.

Reporting directly to the executive Director of Quality, you will work closely with a high-profile advisory board to shape where we go next and support our current learning services to continuously improve. You will also have the opportunity to link with academia to ensure we’re at the forefront of research and learning, with a focus on the provision of services for children with Autism and SEMH needs.

The Director of Education will develop, implement and review the Group’s three year education strategy and work collaboratively with operations to ensure curriculum development and delivery is high quality and market leading. You will also work closely with our Director of Clinical and Wellbeing to ensure learning and wellbeing strategies are aligned and mutually improving outcomes for our children, young people and adults.


Who we are looking for?

The Director of Education must be a qualified teacher with extensive experience of special educational needs. You will have a proven track record of delivering high quality services and achieving service development success. This may include experience working with a regulator or government department to improve service delivery or you may have previously been an executive headteacher or held a senior role in multi-academy trust or private education organisation.

We are looking for a strategic leader that will be confident driving change across a large, complex, multi-site and matrix managed organisation. You will have a passion to make a difference and will influence and lead our services in transforming learning for children and young people with special educational needs.

You must have a post graduate qualification. It would be desirable if this was in special educational needs or a related field.

Essential

Qualified: Graduate with post graduate qualification. Qualified teacher with extensive experience of special educational needs.

Research focussed: Experience of applying academic research into service delivery to improve quality and outcomes

Regulatory understanding

Business development experience

Leadership: Experience of working in a large organisation and driving change through others
