DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL
From January or April 2022
As Director of Football at Hampton, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the leadership, promotion and development of the football programme across the School. Hampton has a strong footballing culture and our coaching programme has been devised by specialist staff to bring out the best from players across all age groups and of all standards. Our teams consistently compete at the top level of national and local competitions and the School is regularly represented in the Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) development squads and national sides.
The successful candidate will be passionate about the development of young players and the post would suit an ambitious professional who is able to offer strategic direction to Hampton Football. As the holder of a senior post within the Sports Department, the Director of Football will be expected to contribute to the wider development of the sporting programme at Hampton, working closely with the Director of Sport and the Deputy Head (Pastoral and Co-Curricular). A contribution to the teaching of a curriculum subject and the School’s extensive co-curricular programme will also be expected.
Hampton is one of the country’s foremost independent schools and is rated 'exceptional' by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) for pupils’ achievements and learning. Inspectors also praised the School for fostering a culture “in which the individual matters and everyone’s contribution is valued.” Equality, diversity and inclusion are fundamental to our ethos and the School has a thriving partnerships programme.
The School has its own salary scale and offers generous non-contractual benefits, well above the maintained sector, to attract high-calibre candidates. There is very strong commitment at Hampton to supporting the continuing professional development of colleagues.
