Plumstead Manor SchoolGreenwich

About us

Plumstead Manor is a thriving and rapidly improved school judged Good by Ofsted. We are dedicated to providing a world-class education to the young people and families of Royal Greenwich, and hold a strong commitment to promoting excellence, justice and success for all our young people.

Our goal is to inspire and nurture young people of all abilities and backgrounds to develop a love of learning that will sustain them throughout their lives. It is this that will successfully see them into further education and the fulfilling career of their choice. Our first priority is academic excellence so that students maximise their full potential and realise their ambitions. Alongside this, we want them to develop into articulate, confident and accomplished young people by providing outstanding pastoral care and wider opportunities for personal and social development.

About the department

Our Maths department has 13 well-qualified and enthusiastic members of staff who successfully deliver the maths curriculum across the school. The team pride themselves in teaching to the highest standard and achieving fantastic results, using a wealth of data, which is central to the planning and delivery of lessons. Students are encouraged to become independent and confident learners. Maths is a popular choice in the sixth form, where large numbers of students study A levels in Maths and Further Maths. Many progress onto mathematical pathways beyond school.
