Job overview

At Emmanuel Schools Foundation we value, challenge and inspire students and staff because each is infinitely precious, gifted for a purpose and morally responsible.

We transform schools by valuing excellence of character, providing a challenging curriculum and inspiring service to our communities. We serve economically and socially disadvantaged contexts in the North East and Yorkshire; currently through six schools in Blyth, Gateshead, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Doncaster educating over 7,000 students with a team of around 1,000 staff.

We have a challenging school improvement agenda and are seeking a talented professional to join our School Improvement Team.

Reporting to the Executive Team, and working with other senior leaders, the Director of Raising Standards (Curriculum) will provide inspiring leadership across our Trust subject networks to ensure outstanding curriculum design, planning, sequencing, resourcing and effective and accurate assessment that delivers high levels of student progress. Furthermore, you will ensure swift actions are taken with school Curriculum Leaders and Heads of Department where you identify low levels of progress, or gaps in security of learning, to rapidly return students to high levels of progress. As a result, students will have access to an outstanding quality of education; enabling ESF schools to improve outcomes for students, the wider community and act as a catalyst for social change.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ethos driven educational organisation whose vision, ethos and policies are characterised by high expectations and a community in which all are, and feel, valued.

Benefits include Teachers’ pension scheme and lunch allowance when school based.

Location is flexible within the Trust, with travel to other locations as required.
