Job overview

Putting children at the heart of everything we do.

Established in 2011, Academy Transformation Trust (ATT) is an exciting and successful family of 22 primary and secondary academies and further education providers, arranged in two regions across the Midlands, East Anglia and Essex. We proudly shape the futures of over 12,000 children and adult learners. Our academies are performing well, from starting points well below national expectations. Most of our academies are now at least Ofsted Good and standards have continually improved over recent years.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Safeguarding to join our central team. This is a brand new post which the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape and develop. You will ensure that every learner thrives as you set the very highest safeguarding standards, developing trust-wide safeguarding and wellbeing strategies which secure the best conditions for academic achievement.

You will have in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and good practice in respect of safeguarding children and adults in education. At the same time, you will oversee complex cases which involve our most vulnerable learners and combine a sharply strategic mind-set with a truly hands-on approach. You will coach, develop and inspire others, continually cultivating a safeguarding culture which permeates all our academies.

It goes without saying that you should be an experienced and inspirational leader with an impressive record working across a complex multi-discipline environment.  Equally importantly, you will be passionate about best practice – and determined to make all the difference every day.

Ultimately you will lead safeguarding in a Trust that has a clear vision of accelerating pupil progress, harnessing its resources, engaging its people, flourishing in its communities and achieving growth through excellence.

We operate flexibly at ATT and so you may choose to work from home or situate yourself at our Head Office in the West Midlands (Birmingham, soon to be located in Sutton Coldfield). Regular (funded) travel to our academies and central office is routine and required.

To apply now, please visit: www.academytransformationtrust.co.uk/vacancies, search for this vacancy and complete the online application form.

Closing date: Sunday, 15th September 2019.

Interview date: Tuesday, 8th October 2019.

Academy Transformation Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, so you will need to undertake an enhanced Criminal Record Check via the DBS.
