Learn Sheffield is a sector-leading school improvement partnership.
Jointly owned by Sheffield’s schools, colleges and the city council, we’re a unique organisation that is reshaping how services to schools are delivered across the city.
Looking beyond the immediate challenge of COVID-19, we’re now planning for further growth and to widen our contribution to Sheffield’s Education & Skills agenda.
Together, we want to deliver the very best for the children and young people of Sheffield – and our new Director of School Improvement will help make that happen.
We’ll look to you to lead our exciting range of school improvement services, providing leadership to the Learn Sheffield team and working closely with the Chief Executive and Board to translate strategic priorities into operational delivery.
To be successful, you’ll need to demonstrate a proven track record in school improvement – most likely as a headteacher, academy trust leader or senior school improvement professional.
Your credibility and prior experience will ensure you can hit the ground running, working closely with the Learn Sheffield team and quickly developing an understanding of our schools’ current and future needs. By doing so, you’ll ensure Learn Sheffield is closely engaged with our schools, with solutions expertly configured to respond to future challenges.
This is a fantastic opportunity to build a professional profile in a key city. And because the most important outcome for us is finding the right person, we’re open-minded about how the role is best configured – whether that’s a part-time contract or some flexibility to combine with your other projects.
For the right candidate, this is a career-defining role. Deputising for our Chief Executive, you’ll have a platform as a key influencer and strategic leader. More importantly, you’ll have the chance to ensure your skills and expertise are harnessed to make a positive impact on the lives of thousands of children and young people.
Learn Sheffield’s mission is clear – to improve the life chances of all the children and young people who live and learn in our city.
If you share that ambition and are passionate about joining us on the journey, we look forward to hearing from you.
