The Governors are seeking to appoint a Director of Science to support the leadership of Science on a permanent contract from January 1st 2020.
We are seeking a person who has experience of being a successful middle leader, but who wishes to take the first rung on the ladder to senior leadership. The successful candidate will lead on developing the Science Faculty and raising achievement across the school. In addition to this role you will also be able to lead on a new initiative for the school by creating, implementing and developing a programme that is designed to meet the needs of our fastest growing group within our cohort, the most able.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious team. The successful candidate will teach across the full age and ability range up to A level.
We adopt an innovative approach to teaching science. In Years 7 and 8, alongside science lessons, students follow a SciArt course where they undertake aspects of the science curriculum through the medium of art. In Year 9, all students have separate lessons in Biology, Chemistry and Physics and at Key Stage 4 we offer GCSE’s in core and additional science as well as the separate sciences as an option. Our Key Stage 5 provision is expanding as the school’s sixth form grows.
