Due to the rapid expansion of our sixth form, we are delighted to offer this newly created opportunity for an inspirational and ambitious teacher to join our supportive team. With currently over 140 students in our sixth form and the capacity to grow to over 300, the successful applicant will have the drive and the ambition to match our goal of becoming the sixth form of choice in the local area. You will benefit from a balanced timetable and the support of a highly capable pastoral team. This position is available to teachers from all subject specialisms.

We have incredible students at Prince William and are passionate about providing them with the best possible education; placing them at the heart of everything we do. Our students are well behaved, happy, engaging, inquisitive and are very proud to be Prince William students; they have high aspirations and look to all our staff to guide them on that journey. Equally impressive are our staff who work tirelessly to achieve our excellent results and to help each student truly achieve their best. We are extremely proud to have such wonderful colleagues and grateful for the life chances they are giving our young people.

We see the investment in our staff as crucial as we look to build on previous successes for our students and the school. The successful candidate will be given tailored career progression opportunities and continued investment from a caring senior management team who are keen to support staff to develop both personally and professionally.

You will be joining the school at an exciting time as examination results across the whole school at both A level and GCSE have seen rapid improvement and the school is expanding. In 2017, 70% achieved grade 4+ in both English and Maths, 49% achieved grade 5+ in both English and Maths, and our Progress 8 score was +0.36, putting the school in the top 19% of schools nationally for progress.  At A level, 55% attained A* - B and the proportion of students achieving AAB or better was 19%.

As a member of the extended leadership team, this is a unique opportunity to bring your vision of best practice to the development of our school.

We offer:

• Students with good attitudes to learning and a desire to learn

Welcome to Prince William School. We are passionate about learning and providing a wide range of experiences for our young people to prepare them for the world beyond school. Our vision is to create an innovative learning environment which has all staff and students learning, developing and delivers the highest of expectations from ourselves and from each other.

At Prince William School we focus upon success. Success for learning. Success in competition. Success in our personal aims. This focus means that we achieve success in many areas including: school results, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, nationally recognised musicians, winning district, county and national sporting events and through being frequent competitors in activities such as the Economics literary papers judged at Eton, and the East Northants “Dragons Den” Competition. We also learn that although we aim to succeed, there are times when we might not. The key is to dust ourselves off and tackle the next challenge with the aim of succeeding next time.

We encourage our young people to ‘Learning for Life’ through the setting of aspirational targets, recognising success in its many guises, through celebrations and in developing and promoting student leadership to encourage future students to do even better.

Our excellent year teams link the need to support young people through any difficulties and challenges in order to overcome barriers to learning and ensure the core purpose of learning and achievement is not forgotten.
