Job overview

Kellett School is seeking a well-qualified and highly motivated Director of Sport.  This newly created post is to oversee the sporting programme for all three Kellett Schools: Pok Fu Lam Preparatory, Kowloon Bay Preparatory and Kowloon Bay Senior.

The post is to commence in August 2020.

The successful applicant will have the ability to influence the strategic direction and development of sport at Kellett School and the aptitude to lead and develop a highly committed team.

The Director of Sport will report to the Principal and CEO through the three Heads of School.

Kellett is a through-train school from Reception to Year 13 with two preparatory campuses and one senior campus.  Student roll currently  1421; Senior 620;  KLB Prep 320;  PFL Prep 481

Kellett offers a truly outstanding education, evidenced by a BSO Inspection, membership of HMC and IAPS, as well as exceptional public examination results


Tenure

The post will initially be offered on a three year contract, renewable annually thereafter by mutual agreement and subject to performance.  Full employment terms, conditions will be sent to all shortlisted candidates.


Salary

(Mainscale teacher + TLR 1.2)

Kellett School has its own  salary scale, full details will be provided to shortlisted candidates.

Additional benefits include:

•22% end of contract gratuity (less employers MPF contributions)

•Comprehensive medical scheme; currently provided by April Hong Kong Limited.

•Relocation package including one month’s room only accommodation

•Interest free loan on arrival, equivalent to one month’s salary; repayable in ten equal installments to cover initial expenses

•Interest free loan to cover rental deposit; repayable from gratuity

•School fee remission (at the level agreed currently) for eligible appointees

A comprehensive school induction programme is offered to all new colleagues, extending to a Hong Kong familiarisation for those joining from overseas.


Interviews

First round interviews will be conducted by Skype

There will be an opportunity for an informal discussion with the Principal & CEO in London on Tuesday 12 November 2019 or by telephone by arrangement

It is envisaged that the candidates selected for final interview will be brought to Hong Kong.

Kellett is a through train school with campuses in Pok Fu Lam on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon Bay. The Pok Fu Lam campus is a Preparatory School (for ages 4-11 years old) in Wah Fu at the foot of Mount Kellett and overlooking Kellett Bay, while the Kowloon Bay campus houses a Preparatory and Senior School for students from 4 -18 years old.
