Sport plays an important part within the Taunton School community and the ethos of sport is one of encouraging excellence and promoting participation.  Having been ranked 7th in the Top 200 Schools list in the School Sport Magazine, we are keen to ensure that we continue to build on existing high standards in both breadth and quality and take us to the next level in school sport. 

As Director of Sport you will be responsible for the overall strategy, leadership and management of the Sports programme and direct line management of the Heads of Sport as well as the management of all staff involved within the provision of sport within the Senior School. Sport must be your passion, and your commitment to encouraging excellence is paramount.  

Taunton School was founded in 1847. It is an independent day and boarding school with approximately 1,150 pupils, aged from 0 - 18 years, with circa 400 boarders. There are five Schools on site; a Nursery and Pre Prep, Preparatory, Senior and two International Schools. The School also has a commercial arm to the business and runs educational courses during the holiday periods as well as events and other activities. We aim to challenge, nurture and inspire young people to succeed in a global community.
